In the spirit of Cycle Syncing and supporting our Infradian Rhythm, I’ve introduced a little red meat during the Menstrual Phase of our cycle. Being mainly plant based myself, you can be sure this Salad is loaded with veggies, served alongside crispy sweet potato fries, it is rich in phytonutrients and bursting with antioxidants. Protein is such an important addition to our diet especially during the Menstrual phase as it is rich in amino aids which are involved in hormone synthesis. High-quality lean red meat provides iron, but if you’re not into red meat, it can be substituted with vegetarian options such as chickpeas, kidney beans, lentils, quinoa or buckwheat for plant-based protein.
Whilst maintaining a diet high is fibre rich veggies aids with metabolising Estrogen and supporting detoxification pathways. It’s worth noting the addition of Sunflower Seeds provides a high concentration of Selenium which also helps to support liver detoxification, whilst their high Vitamin E content contributes to Progesterone production, aka, the calming hormone. Adjusting our diet according to our Cycle really does help to improve energy and how we feel in our bodies. You can find out more about all four unique phases of our cycle in the Cycle Syncing Category at Rhythmic Pilates On Demand.
